Sermon: How to Keep Rollin' When Your World is Rockin'

PSALM 37:1-9

Can we live out the truth in such a way that our lives become proof that the Word is true, or will we get caught up in the wrangling, the spittering and sputtering, that damages our Kingdom impact?

The Rim

“Do not fear” when our enemies seem to be winning. The Word tells us not to fear 365 times. This is not a coincidence.

I John 4:18 tells us, “Perfect love drives out fear.”

If I don’t believe this it is not a theological problem; it’s a learning disability. I must act as if what He says is true.

A lack of fear must surround our lives like the rim on a wheel.

The Hub

This is the focus, center, and anchor. It is not peripheral or unimportant.

God must be the center if we’re going to know who we truly are.

“In the Lord” or “to the Lord” is the focus of this whole acrostic, creed, and rhythm of walking with God.

The Spokes

Trust: Assume that He’s telling the truth, and live like He’s on your side.

Delight: This means to luxuriate, bask, revel, and rest without fear. If we have God, we have all that we need and more!

Commit: Hands down to God.

Rest: If commit means “hands down,” then rest means “hands off!”

Release: Refrain from anger. We must let God work things out His way and release the results to Him.
