Sermon: The Vindication of Christ’s Suffering

Without the resurrection, the long-suffering of God through Jesus is absolutely pointless.

For 2,000 years we have celebrated the resurrection of Jesus.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:14, “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”

Is there evidence of resurrection?

The first recorded statements.

They couldn’t proclaim a resurrection without an empty tomb.

There are no other competing burial stories.

But what about the resurrection? This is the miracle of Easter!

There were numerous eyewitness accounts of His appearing.

Even some within the Jewish faith today admit this.

God apparently vindicated Jesus’ claims!

“I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me.” —John 14:6

Conclusion:

History and the Bible tell the story of the life, the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus.

Joseph of Arimathea sought the Kingdom of God. Do I?
